Water Work

Water work is designed to show off the natural instincts of the Newfoundland dog. The idea of a water trial originated in 1971 and consisted of two divisions, Junior and Senior.  Each division consisted of six exercises.  Two years after the conception of the Newfoundland Dog Water Trial, the Newfoundland Club of America (NCA) sanctioned its first Official Water Rescue Test.  Over the years, the NCA Water Test has evolved and has added a third level, the Water Rescue Dog Excellent.

Additional information and resources about Water Work can be found on the NCA website.
