Draft Work

Draft work or carting demonstrates the Newfoundland’s natural ability and strength.  The dog and handler must demonstrate team work to maneuver around obstacles and perform a freight haul. 

Recently the NCA expanded the draft test to include a Beginner Draft Dog (BDD), an Advanced Draft Dog (DDX), along with the Draft Dog (DD) level. Draft Dog and Advanced Draft Dog can also be done as a team event with two or more dogs.
